One of the pioneers of world aviation was certainly the one commonly known as Sacadura Cabral in the Lusitanian world, the Portuguese aviator was the first to cross the Atlantic Ocean from Portugal to Brazil.

Generally known only as  Sacadura Cabral  (born in Celorico da Beira on May 23, 1881 and died in the North Sea on November 15, 1924) he was an official aviator of the Portuguese Navy.

He was a pioneer of Portuguese aviation who in 1922 made the first air crossing of the southern Atlantic from Lisbon to Rio de Janeiro together with Gago Coutinho in a seaplane. In 1924, due to the fog, it disappeared while flying over the North Sea.

There are characters in aviation history little known to the general public, among the best known names are those of the Wright brothers, who on 17 December 1903 managed to make the first take-off in the history of contemporary civil aviation or the pilot Lindbergh, who made the crossing of the Atlantic in 1927.

A little known name to the general public is that of Louis Blériot, his primacy has gone down in history, because he was the first to make the crossing of the English Channel on 25 July 1909. In order to provide the reader with exact data, we gladly use the online encyclopedia wikipedia, where we will read the various details:

He accomplished the feat aboard a Blériot XI monoplane of his own construction, equipped with a W-shaped radial three-cylinder engine specially designed and built by Alessandro Anzani, flying from Calais to Dover in 32 minutes, at an altitude of about 100m above sea level. Thus he won the first prize of a thousand pounds offered by the London newspaper Daily Mail. It is said that the customs officers of Dover, obviously lacking forms relating to the arrival of aircraft, used those for the steamers: from which it turned out that that day a steamer arrived in Dover with only one passenger on board.
